Violin player Théo Ceccaldi is one of the most important revelation of the new French scene. In addition of being elected “musician of the year 2017” by Jazz Magazine, the national jazz newspaper, he was awarded in September “revelation of the year 2017” by the Jazz Victory Awards.
Being literally everywhere during the last couple of years on the french creative jazz scene, he’s been highly noticed for his collaboration with “Orchestre National de Jazz” as well as his numerous international collaborations (amongst others : Joëlle Léandre, Louis Sclavis, Vincent Coutois, Eve Risser, Daniel Erdmann, Dejan Terzic, Christian Lillinger…)
With his new band as a leader, FREAKS, Théo Ceccaldi has surrounded himself with virtuosos improvisers in order to create an universe of his own combining sonic deflagrations with sophisticated and nuanced compositions.
